Who I Am
My name is Kristen Milford. I graduated in 2012 from the College of Charleston with B.A. Communication and B.A. Philosophy with a minor in Theatre Arts. While attending university, I completed two internships at the Becket Agency, a boutique PR and social media firm with major clientele including Mellow Mushroom, and Pinewood Preparatory School, a K-12 private institution. During both positions, I garnered press from ABC News 4, The Digitel, Charleston Magazine, and Post & Courier, among other media.
Post-graduation, I accepted a Sales & Marketing position at The History Press (Arcadia Publishing), specializing in localized history books on the west coast. I worked alongside the Field Sales Representative to reach a monthly sales goal via B2B sales and generate interest in our titles within the target area. In September 2015, I began working at Evening Post Books, the book publishing arm of Evening Post Industries also affiliated with Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper Post & Courier. As the Sales & Operations Coordinator and sole employee, I manage all aspects of the division from proposed to published inclusive of acqusitions, production, publicity, sales, marketing, advertising, and operations. I manage the back-end of EPB's e-commerce platform, oversee several freelance employees and am required to adhere to strict publishing deadlines.
I'm also a freelance writer; my work has been featured in Charleston City Paper and Charleston Grit. On the side, I manage a fashion blog called Cats in My Closet, which launched in the fall of 2012. My site accepts sponsored content and banner advertising, and I have partnered with numerous companies, most namely Loly in the Sky.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my three cats, binge-watching the latest anime series to drop on Netflix, and reading up on the latest fashions via style blogs and magazines.
